Aeschynanthus javanicus
Van Houtte, 1845
A. javanicus is now A. radicans, a synonym for A. lobbianus. A. radicans is a variable species, but always characterized by large red flowers that emerge from a tubular calyx, reminiscent of lipstick emerging from a tube. As a result, a number of variants of this species are referred to as "Lipstick Plants".
Another print of a plant from this group can be seen here, and photographs of plants here and here.
