At first I did not think that this seedling, obtained from John Boggan of the Smithsonian Institution, would prove to be very interesting.  However, it appears to be quite hardy in cool and dry winter conditions in a bright east-facing window, and had many buds early in January, under short-day conditions.  A closeup of the flower can be seen   by clicking here.
