Chirita sp. 'New York'

John Boggan of the Smithsonian Institution reports that this species, formerly known in North America as C. pteropoda, has not yet been classified, and may be a new species. The white or pale yellow color of 'New York' is rare in Chirita. The plant can be very floriferous, and it is possible to produce very impressive show plants, with the many flowers nicely set off by the shiny green leaves.

Another photograph shows a plant with fewer flowers, but with the leaves visible.
