Chirita sinensis var. Angustifolia

Grown by Bob and Dee Stewart

Shown at the 2002 AGGS Convention show.  Bob and Dee Stewart grow a number of gesneriads mounted on tree fern, after the fashion of some orchids.  This can closely follow the natural habit of many gesneriads.  In this case, the result is to my mind an attractive randomness of the leaves (which appeared to leave the judges cold).  A more conventionally grown version of the cultivar (with flowers) can be see here, and another show plant with fine foliage here.
