This species has also been known as Columnea teuscheri, Tricantha minor and Tricantha teuscheri.  It has an interesting and unusual flower, suggesting the pollinator may be similarily interesting.  Other examples of this species may be seen here, here and here.

Wiry stems trail gracefully, with drooping lanceolate dark green leaves.  C. minor is a native of Colombia and Ecuador, at medium elevations, and may grow better in somewhat cool conditions.
