Drymonia coccinea

Many of the Drymonia species have interesting leafy calyces.   In some cases, as with this species and D. coriaceae, the calyx is a substantial contributor to the overall color and beauty of the flower.  In others, for instance D. killippi, the calyx, while leafy, is not dramatic.
