Seemannia 'Chic'

This small bed of S. 'Chic' was in Allan Gardens, a public conservatory maintained by the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Toronto. At one time, a number of gesneriad species and hybrids were used as ground covers in plantings at this conservatory. Many of these were first supplied by the Toronto Gesneriad Society. Note the Saintpaulia hybrids in the background.  A closeup of the flowers of S. 'Chic' on a show plant can be seen by clicking here.
