Haberlea rhodopensis

Grown at Wisley Gardens, UK

Like several other alpine gesneriads, this species grows well in temperate climes on a north-facing rock wall, in small pockets of soil between the rocks.  Other forms of the species can be seen here and here.  The same plant in bud in early spring can be seen here.  A show plant illustrates the indoor decorative potential of the species.
