This unusual Nematanthus has been distributed under the name N. sp 'Santa Teresa'. Alain Chautems will be publishing it under the name albus in the near future.
Unlike most Nematanthus, albus is adapted for pollination by large Euglossine bees. Aside from the flower appearance and size, it shares many characteristics with other Nematanthus, and has been hybridized with other species within the genus. Click here and here for other views of this plant.
