Paliavana is a small genus of shrubby plants from Brazil.  It is separated from the closely related genus Sinningia by  the absence of tubers, and from Vanhouttea by the large green  or violet flowers.  There is recent molecular evidence that Paliavana should actually be considered a non-tuberous Sinningia species.  It is possible that the two genera will be merged in the future.

Paliavana has large and waxy flowers; in the case of P. prasinata they are a clear green color.  P. plumeroides grows into a small tree.
