Sinningia conspicua (detail)

Note the lines in the throat of this cultivar. S. eumorpha and many other species have similar markings. These may be guides for insects seeking nectar. Since S. conspicua is sweetly scented under some conditions, it is likely that this species is insect pollinated. The alternate view of this plant gives a better idea of its overall proportion.
