This is the peloric form of S. cardinalis, without a hood and with equally distributed lobes. A similar mutation is what probably gave rise to the familiar peloric "trumpets" of the modern hybirds of Sinningia speciosa. White-flowered peloric plants have also been created. These forms are among the ancestors of some modern peloric hybrids.
