These are fresh sprouts of S. tubiflora, not yet exhibiting the large white fragrant flowers for which it is admired. This species often produces a number of smallish tubers strung along thick roots, which allows it to spread out from a central initial growing point. Immediately behind the bright green narrow leaves of tubiflora is a post-flowering plant of Smithiantha 'Little One'.
