Sinningia reitzii

Grown at Allan Gardens, Toronto

This specimen was at least a meter tall and perhaps somewhat wider in total spread. Some of the older and darker leaves retain evidence of the juvenile foliage, which is very dark with attractive ligher veining. A closeup of the flowers shows markings on the lobes, and another illustrates the woody nature of the long stems.
