Grown at Allan Gardens, Toronto
This plant was being grown in a hanging basket, with a tangle of mainly leafless woody stems spreading out widely from the moss-lined wire container. When grown in the ground, it is not as easy to see the stems because of the crown of foliage, but as is clear from this image, the stems can become very woody, and the plant can take on the form of a low shrub.
