Streptocarpus johannis

Grown at Wisley Gardens, UK

This is a good illustration of the blue form of this species, which has contributed greatly to modern hybrids.  S. johannis is relatively compact in size, with many smallish nicely-shaped flowers.  Another example of the blue form can be seen here, the white form here.  The flowers in this photo are the correct colour -- in other photos, the colour is much warmer, more purplish, which is a function of the film -- this photo was taken with a digital camera.
