Streptocarpus formosus (standard)

S. formosus is an attractive species with large flowers and interestingly marked throats. The corolla lobes are often distincly picoteed in the bud stage and in young flowers, and the spotting in the yellow throat has been passed on to hybrids.
The illustration here is of the standard form. There is also a lighter-colored version grown by Prof. Bellstedt, which appears more similar to the plants typically grown in North America.
